Identify Potential Hazards
Back to Toolkit Overview

As a part of Risk Assessment, sites need to understand which hazards may impact both supply of energy and/or water resources as well as redundant systems. This tool helps users understand the range of possible hazards and how frequently they may impact a site. The estimates are determined based on your state and county using data from FEMA's National Risk Index for Natural Hazards (NRI). The data has been modified within the TRN to display the likely annual frequency of a hazard at a site. This takes into account the fact that the chance of a hazard impacting a site is smaller than the chance of a hazard impacting anywhere within a county; therefore, the frequency displayed may be smaller than the values found in the NRI. Either enter your zip code or select your state and county to see potential dual-impact hazards.
